The following July 18th a resounding walk will be held through El Raval.

Considering about the sounds that surround us, raising awareness about topics related to acoustic ecology and designing some educational initiatives that explore these types of practices. This is the World’s Listening Day’s aim, an initiative promoted by World Listening Project and Midwest Society of Acoustic Ecology organizations, and takes place in July 18th.

The artist and exposer Pedro Montesinos and the sound designer, Byron Abadía, have wanted to join this project and, thanks to World Listening Project’s support, they are organizing a resounding walk through El Raval (Barcelona) area, addressed to any type of audience.

The event will start with a welcoming talk addressed to the participants, in order to continue with the free walk through the district. The objective is recording countryside’s sounds or, if there isn’t any stereo or sound equipment, simply practicing a listening activity.

The participants will afterwards be able to share their recordings (or texts, if someone prefers it) on World Listening Day Barcelona’s web site. Audio, video, photos and text files will be able to be sent (by Dropbox, Wetransfer…) to info@wldbcn.org

If it is not possible attending to WLDBCN 2014, it is also possible to take part in by sending resounding walk’s recordings made in Barcelona from July 14th to July 20th.
